The Independent Monitoring Team for the Chicago Police Department Consent Decree will review our first- year monitoring plan and introduce the Monitoring Team that will assess the Chicago Police Department’s and City of Chicago’s compliance with the consent decree. The meeting will also include roundtable discussions to gather the perspectives of local community members to ensure our monitoring efforts reflect the priorities of Chicago’s diverse community members.

Beat meetings: CPD Beat meetings, held on all 279 police beats in the City, provide a regular opportunity for police officers, residents, and other community stakeholders to exchange information, identify and prioritize problems, and begin developing solutions to those problems.

District Advisory Committees: Each District Commander has a District Advisory Committee which serves to provide advice and community based strategies that address underlying conditions contributing to crime and disorder in the district. Each District Advisory Committee should represent the broad spectrum of stakeholders in the community including residents, businesses, houses of worship, libraries, parks, schools and community-based organizations.
