Approved ordinance amendments that would slightly increase the city’s gas and electric franchise fees to fund the city’s Climate Legacy Initiative, which is a long-term plan to reduce the city’s carbon emissions.

  • Most households and businesses would see an annual increase of about $12 on their bills, the city says. The city would receive about $10 million annually.
  • The Climate Legacy Initiative includes support for weatherizing homes, installing solar panels, planting trees, electric vehicle charging stations and reducing local waste.

Approved 2024 services and charges for Special Service Districts

  • Special Service Districts are: 48th & Chicago, Central Avenue, Dinkytown, Eat Street, Linden Hills, Lowry Hill, Stadium Village and Uptown.
