She explains how 911 calls are process. Police officers are first to respond and then they reach out to the dispatchers The first information they need is where, what and then who. They also need to know when the emergency happened and what weapons were involved

Lauren explains there are three types of priority calls: first priority events are described as events that pose an eminent thread to life. Priority two, time response can effect outcome of incident. Third priority don’t pose threads to life.

Lauren says that people don’t often call 911 when they they hear gunshots so she thinks it’s important

She also talked about the the smart 911 program is a subscription service that the city of Chicago has that allows residents to create a profile which dispatchers will have access to only when you call. She says the data is encrypted

She mentions she attended the special meeting on shot spotter. She also attended a meeting on the movement to end pretextual traffic stops. She said she attending a meeting with Souther poverty law center to talk about research on white suprcy groups within the police department.

Denise Mcbroom, gives her debrief she says that the nominating committee is currently in the process of interview members for the CCPSA. She explains the specific qualifications for the members. Commissioner terms are 2-4 years

Next is public comment with 2 minutes per speaker. The first public speaker is FOP President, John Catazara. He begins by addressing Erin’s previous debrief. He says that internal affairs has verified that white supremacist groups aren’t present in police department.

Next speaker is Annie Jacobs she addresses pretextual stops which she says less than 1% result in the confiscation of any illegal weapons. She says that’s why it needs to be reduced and that it would benefit police officers.

Mimi is the next speaker from the 11 ward, she says her ward is creating a participatory budgeting committee to decide how money is allocated in the ward. The committee is looking for representation from other neighborhoods

Next speaker is Jim Jakstavich, the financial secretary of the FOP and a detective. He also addresses traffic stops, he says traffic stops are used to stop gang bangers. He also address Erin’s public comment at city hall. He shouts out Comm’r McBroom for her work in the community
