Q. Joanna representing Councilmember Waters office asking board to come to town hall on May 4th with no response. A: CEO Daniels and Chair Gerson claims a meeting on the calendar that Waters had to cancel. Asked to reschedule. Board Member Parnell-Shelton will attend town hall.
Q: Seeking transparency on why neighbor was not sold side lots that she took care of. A: Tammy Daniels, CEO, stated that board has already met with this commenter but is willing to do so again.
Board members, including the Chair and CEO, are actively rolling their eyes and smirking to each other during last commenter. Maybe they forgot we can see them...
Q: Santana Hill echoing first commenter about Town Hall attendance and notes there will be two others. A: Chair Gerson jots down dates and thanks commenter.
Q: Carman asking who to contact for a rejection for owning too much land? A: CEO Daniels confirmed neighborhood lots can be purchased two per year. They are going to give her a call directly.
CEO Report - Budget passed with $10.5 million allocation. Conversation on why they didn't receive the requested $11m and how they are in the dark on the decision. Stated that maintenance of properties will take the hit with the decrease.
CEO Report - MOU awaiting feedback, concerns raised by Councilmember Waters to get in buyback. Town hall mentioned earlier is part of conversation. Talking about someone living in landbank home with DPD calls on them, Chair asked if eviction possible, CEO said no bc of children.
CEO Report - Growth in black wealth and homeownership increased 80% since 2014 in the city according to a report.
Equitable Transfers - 16169 Northlawn sold by landbank in Sept 2019 for $31,500. Owner did not meet mortgage obligations. there were 4 property sales, 4th owners rehabbed and filed quiet title against DLBA, DLBA responded. Owner offered $50k for full title.
Equitable Transfers - 20217 Meyers in May 2019 for $9,150 due to 50% discount from city. Rehabbed house and entered land contract with a family. In exchange for quick claim deed owner would pay $9,150.
Resolutions - i. Amandala CDC seeks 67 vacant properties to build affordable housing project in two phases. Amandala will have 90 days to clean all properties.
Resolutions - ii. resolution approving purchase and development agreement with Omni Residence LLC for six properties. iii. resolution approving purchase and development agreement with Azizi Company LLC for five properties. Both approved.
Resolutions - iv. resolution to purchase parcel in front of this house and include purchase of house parcel to demolish it for safety and eyesore concerns. Their childcare business is nearby. Approved.
Resolutions - v. Exchange of property with Heidelberg Project, DLBA would acquire 4 vacant lots and a mixed use store and transfer 9 lots by core art installations. Approved.
Resolutions - vi. Purchased property at auction last year and wants to transfer title to himself. He has met all requirements. Approved.
Resolutions - vii. Missionary Baptist Church was placed on tax closure and were never made aware. This corrective transfer would fix that error from 2015. Approved.
Board is moving to closed session. Chair stated there will be no motions or discussion after closed session beyond adjournment.
