This one-hour training will introduce you to the Cleveland Documenters community, starting with a walk-through of Documenters.org, compensation, and our assignment workflow. You’ll also practice core skills relevant to a range of paid assignments.
Upon completion of this community-building workshop you’ll be eligible to apply for paid assignments. We offer other Documenters trainings such as public meetings*, live-tweeting, and other workshops to give you the support and preparation you’ll need. Unless otherwise noted, these trainings are encouraged but not required for the related assignment.

*Ready to start documenting with us? Stay on the line after orientation for Covering Your Local Government, a one-hour training for our most common assignment type. This training is strongly encouraged as we go over the basics of documenting public meetings, give an introduction to Cleveland City Council, and an overview of your legal rights and responsibilities.
