In public testimony, Diane Palmer of SCIU Local 73 requested an extension of funding for 80 hours of sick time for those sick with COVID-19 or exposed to it. The funding was granted in 2020, and extended in 2021. It has yet to be extended for 2022.

Public testimonies have concluded. Psychiatric services in the south suburbs of Chicago, the Land Bank Scavenger Sale, Local 399, among others spoke. More written testimonies will be part of the meeting record.

Item 22-1626: Bureau of Finance CFO Ammar Rizki among others in the Bureau of Finance presented "long-term" for the Healthy Communities initiative. This included a crisis intervention pilot program that would replace police response for mental health emergencies.

The vital communities initiative will continue funding for emergency mortgage and rental assistance in partnership with the state as well as continuing to support the permanent supportive housing

The Bureau of Administration presented several agenda items (agenda linked earlier in this thread). Some of the items include a 1 million dollar increase for the South Suburban Humane Society and an increased authority for the bureau to accept grants for public vaccination sites.

There were several proposed no cash bid requests presented at the Finance Subcommittee on Tax Delinquency Meeting on Feb. 9. Today, the Board of Commissioners motioned these except 22-1058, which was withdrawn and 22-1110 which was deferred.

The Technology and Innovation Committee meeting motion was approved. The Health and Hospital Committee meeting reports were received and filed except for item 21-0541 which was deferred. There was a previous motion to take up new items, which has carried.

County Commissioners are elected officials who oversee county activities and work to ensure that citizen concerns are met, federal and state requirements are fulfilled, and county operations run smoothly. The Cook County Board of Commissioners is the governing board and legislative body of the county. It is comprised of 17 Commissioners, each serving a four-year term and is elected from single member districts. Each district represents approximately 300,000 residents. The Board also operates approximately 40 committees and subcommittees chaired by members of Board of Commissioners.
